Lucas & Liam Legacy Studios is a Cape Breton cinematic production studio founded by Lucas Cotton — filmmaker, storyteller, and father. We build brand films, heritage documentaries, and complete digital identities for tourism businesses and organizations across Atlantic Canada.
What makes us different isn't the tools. It's the place. Every frame we shoot comes from someone who grew up on this island — who knows what the fog off the Bras d'Or looks like at 6am, what a Cape Breton voice sounds like, and why the stories here matter. We don't parachute in. We're already here.
We work across three verticals that most studios treat as separate businesses: cinematic film production, web design and digital identity, and heritage documentary for broadcast. For our clients that means one relationship, one creative vision, and work that holds together across every screen it appears on.
Our documentary work airs on Telile Community Television. Our animated characters — Cod B'y and Puffy of the Atlantic Cinematic Universe — are built on primary source historical research. Our music releases under Rogue Tide on major streaming platforms. We've been featured on East Coast Rising through 101.5 The Hawk.
We work fast. Most projects film in a single day and deliver within two to three weeks. No account managers, no agency overhead — just Lucas on the phone and Lucas on location.
From boutique tourism properties to conservation organizations and community heritage groups — every project built with care, authenticity, and a deep respect for Atlantic Canadian place and culture.
Answer a few questions — we'll match you with the right package and give you a clear next step in under 2 minutes.
Tourism operator, heritage organization, broadcaster, or someone with a story worth telling — every project starts with a free conversation with Lucas directly. No agency, no middleman.
